Las películas de la programación del Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto 2023: ‘Dumb Money’, ‘The Boy and the Heron’ y muchas más.
¿Cuál se llevará el Premio del Público?
El Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto, también conocido como TIFF, por sus siglas en inglés (Toronto International Film Festival), es uno de los festivales de cine más prestigiosos y reconocidos a nivel mundial.
A diferencia de otros festivales europeos, donde un jurado elitista decide el palmarés, en Toronto el premio gordo lo otorga el soberano público. Y, creednos, el ojo de los asistentes canadienses no suele fallar. A lo largo de los años, el certamen ha sido la rampa de lanzamiento para obras maestras que terminaron arrasando en los Óscars. ¿Os suenan títulos como La forma del agua, 12 años de esclavitud, Moonlight, La La Land o Whiplash? Exacto. Todas ellas pasaron por aquí antes de hacer historia en el Dolby Theatre de Los Ángeles. Si una película sale coronada de aquí, ya tiene la mitad del camino hecho hacia la nominación a Mejor Película.
Normalmente, este evento suele atraer a muchos actores y actrices de renombre de todo el mundo, pero esta edición de 2023 pasará a los anales de la historia por un motivo muy diferente: la histórica huelga del sindicato de actores (SAG-AFTRA). Es por ello que el star-system desfilando por las alfombras rojas será algo escaso.
